T-Mobile Gates of Prosper Custom Murals
Localized artwork at the T-Mobile Experience Store in Prosper, Texas
T-Mobile opened a new Experience Store in Prosper, Texas, and wanted to add localized flair to the location in the form of two large-format custom murals. The murals needed to reflect the culture of Dallas, use a branded color palette, and work cohesively while being two distinct pieces of art.
As concept lead, I wanted to find an artist living in the Dallas area to ensure the work looked uniquely Texan, while sourcing an artist whose style felt cohesive the T-Mobile brand. We found the perfect artist in Ryan Sprague. I was drawn to Ryan’s use of geometry in his compositions and felt that his personal style would work seamlessly in the space.
With art direction, Ryan illustrated and hand-painted two 7’x8.5’ murals entitled Rodeo Boot and Longhorn Hat. Rodeo Boot is composed of icons from North Texas: a cowboy boot, the Dallas Skyline, the Lone Star flag, a spur, and the warm sun. Its partner, Longhorn Hat, is comprised of a bull, a cowboy hat, the Prosper windmill, and a prickly pear cactus.
Both murals are permanent fixtures in the Gates of Prosper store and receive high compliments from T-Mobile executives following store visits. Following this project, we were asked to source Ryan for three more installations and an artist event at the Southlake, Texas, T-Mobile Experience store.
